Not for a mini wargame, so mods feel free to move the post to another section.
The goal of this conversion was to create an anti-paladin follower of the Golarion god of pain and loss, Zon-Kuthon. Base mini, Reaper's Ulern Anti-Paladin. I didn't like the skulls on the shoes. Got rid of those. Sculpted chains on belt and shoulder skulls, to make them look like the kuthite holy symbol. Since Zon-Kuthon's followers like to inflict pain on themselves, as well as others, I added a chain going from a nose ring to an ear ring. Lastly, I squared out the base to add to it's stability. Green stuff 1 Green stuff 2 Green stuff 3 Close-up Base 1 Base 2 I went for a pretty classic paint scheme, but it's effective. That's why it's a classic I guess. The inside of the cape is darker than in the pics, and I had a problem with my primer which kinda screwed up the sword. Still very happy with how the mini turned out. Front Side Back Other side Base

Sweet job indeed! I'm in awe of your prowess!! With regards to primer have you ever tried giving them a white vinegar bath instead of using a primer. Works very well for me.

I am most heartily impressed! I used to be pretty good at miniature painting, but it's been so long since I did any serious painting. And, to top it off my eyesight seems to be failing (I need bi-focals now dontcha know), but I think I still have a pretty steady hand. I should try finishing my Cyrill miniature at some point.

I think that many role-players get confused between "Fair" and "Balanced". "Fair" is a function of "Trust", Either in the GM, or the whims of Fate as represented by the Dice. A Mechanically "Balanced" system is a substitute for "Trust" and "Fair Play" to insure that Immature players or GM's don't abuse to gain an "Unfair" advantage over the others. I feel really sorry for any role playing group that feels they NEED a game to be "balanced". It's not the kind of group I want to play in. ![]() __________________________________ Playing: TFT [Company of the Black Rose], M&M [PMikey's The Crusaders! - On Hiatus.] GMing: Nothing Yet!!! Thanks.
@ thumper: No, I've never even heard of giving minis a white vinegar bath. Primer usually treats me right. Hadn't painted minis in a while. My white primer was fine, but the black one (the one I use for this mini) went bad.

Very nice stuff. it has been ages since I painted a fig.
I use the white vinager bath too, way back then. It is a mild acid and acts as a degreaser and silghtly roughens the surface to make paint adhear better. R

@ Acev, the vinegar bath essentially etches the metal. you do have to be careful with some of the newer, lighter white metals but I find they take to the process just as well as the older metals. Just be sure to rinse them in cool/cold water after the bath (about 15 to 30 minutes) then dry them and off you go to painting.
