Default Character Concepts for St. Nicolas

I managed to dig up an M&M first edition write-up of Wind-Eagle but I can't find the SAS version I know I did in the past (I think it was lost in the previouis disk crash).

Midnight, you wouldn't happen to have a copy of that floating around, would you?

If not, don't worry about it...probably better if I re-did him from scratch, anyway. I know I want to redo his background write-up a bit (but not as much as I was worried that I would have to).

Here's the old version prior to re-writes...
(keep in mind it needs major re-writes)

Quote:
William Emerson Preston was one of the most highly-respected names in his field of Archaeology, Anthropology and Historical Sociology. He had it all, the respect of his peers, a vast inherited family fortune and, best of all, the love of a beautiful woman. At least he thought he had it all until he was trapped and injured in a tunnel collapse on a dig in Egypt sponsored by the Egyptian government.

While trying to dig himself out, he uncovered a previously undiscovered chamber. In the chamber was an altar to the Egyptian God Horus and, on that altar was a mystic talisman. When he picked up the talisman, the spirit of Horus appeared to William and made him an offer. He would give William the power to save his own life if, in return, he then dedicated that life to the service of Horus and become a champion for justice.

William accepted the offer and the spirit of Horus bade him to put the talisman around his neck. Donning the talisman, William found himself imbued with great power and was able to dig his way out of the collapsed tunnel.

Returning stateside, William soon found his life changed as he found himself compelled to do the will of Horus and actively fight against the forces of Evil and Injustice as the hero Wind Eagle. In order to protect his wife, William never told her his secret but somehow she still manages to find herself in life-threatening situations on a regular basis. But William hasn't kept his secret entirely to himself.

When his mansion was broken into and the talisman stolen, William gave chase but the burglar managed to make it to his car and drove away. William chased after him in his own car but the driver simply outclassed William in driving skill and William drove his car off a cliff on a hairpin turn. William managed to jump out of the car but found himself clinging to the side of the cliff, hanging on by a dangling root.

To his astonishment, the driver turned around and came back. Lowering himself down on a rope, the driver of the other car climbed down the cliff to rescue William. He had almost succeeded when the rope broke and the two men found themselves perilously perched on a crumbling ledge.

Asking the burglar to return the Talisman, William put it back around his neck and turned into Wind Eagle...and flew the burglar to safety. Realizing that there was no way to keep the burglar quiet, Wind Eagle decided to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. Wind Eagle hired the burglar, Jimmy Donnegan, to work for him as a driver and bodyguard, to keep his wife out of danger and to help protect his secret identity. Jimmy accepted the offer and has been loyally dedicated to Wind Eagle's cause ever since.

The only other one who knows Wind Eagle's secret is his trusty "sidekick" Horus; a Hawk he had once summoned but, for some reason has stuck around and has helped Wind Eagle in his cause ever since. When not helping Wind Eagle, Horus soars the skys over the city...ever vigilant for trouble that he would then alert his master to.

Jimmy and Horus don't always get along, with Jimmy often hurling insults at the bird and Horus often nipping at Jimmy when he sees an easy shot but these two trust each other with their lives and have saved each other on countless occassions.
As you can tell, he's kind of a cross between Hawkman and Moon Knight and DC's Captain Marvel.

He's in servitude to the Egyptian god that gave him his powers and, other than an enhanced physique (and wings with which to fly, of course), all of his "abilities" come from the mystic weapons he carries and armour he wears.

His focus is mainly on street crime, protecting the innocent and taking vengeance for those he fails to protect. The protecting the innocent is his main focus, the taking of vengeance is dictated upon him by his patron god.

He has come to St. Nicolas because his patron god wants him there. So he has uprooted his family and taken a position with a local museum. For several months prior to moving his family, he began patrolling St. Nicolas as Wind-Eagle so that people wouldn't make the association between Wind-Eagle and William Emerson Preston appearing in St. Nicolas at the same time.
